Abstract
When treated with suitable alkyllithiums, arylimines may undergo singl e electron-transfer and conjugative substitution in the aryl ring, as well as nucleophilic addition to the imine bond, Multiple substitution s by tert-butyl radicals are noted, giving rise to rearranged and oxid ized products, including cycloadducts.
