Oral infections with human herpesviruses cause increased morbidity in
patients infected with HIV. In this study, multiple HHVs were often is
olated from the saliva of HIV-seropositive dental patients, but their
isolation rate did not differ substantially from rates reported for th
e general population, except for human cytomegalovirus.
