The possibility of the conductimetric detection of transition metals f
ollowing separation with a linear DH gradient was demonstrated. Such d
etection is possible owing to the constant conductivity of the polyamp
holyte eluent over a wide pH range due to the use of a starting buffer
with the same conductivity as the polyampholyte eluent. The separatio
n of metals was performed on a column packed with tetraethylenepentami
ne-bonded silica.
