P. Dahl et al., LOW-ENERGY STRUCTURE IN THE ELECTRON CONTINUA FROM LI-NE AND NA+-NE COLLISIONS(), Journal of physics. B, Atomic molecular and optical physics, 30(15), 1997, pp. 3491-3497
Electron spectra from 20 and 50 keV Li+-Ne and 25, 40, 50, and 60 keV
Na+-Ne collisions have been measured at ejection angles of 20-160 degr
ees, and at electron energies down to 1.6 eV. In both collision system
s, a low-energy structure is observed at energies below 5 eV superimpo
sed on a broad continuum. It is proposed that the low-energy structure
may be due to electrons promoted to the continuum via the so-called T
promotion associated with 'saddle-point' electrons.
