Abstract
l-5-O-[(pentachlorophenoxy)phthaloyl]-L-arabinitol hydrochloride was p repared from L-arabinose, and its inter-and intra-molecular condensati on reactions were studied. In these reactions, a mixture of oligomers (in HMPA: 30%) besides the monomeric compound ,4-tri-O-methyl-1-deoxy- 1-phthalimido-L-arabinitol (in HMPA: 51%) were obtained.
