T. Wolf et al., APPLICATION OF FUZZY-RULE-BASED POSTPROCESSING TO CORRELATION METHODSIN PATTERN-RECOGNITION, Applied optics, 35(35), 1996, pp. 6955-6963
The use of fuzzy-logic techniques on the correlation output plane is a
nalyzed as a method to improve the discrimination capabilities of patt
ern-recognition procedures. The study is divided into two parts: one r
ecounts a computer-simulated example corresponding to pattern recognit
ion by the use of input images that may be defocused, tilted, or corru
pted by additive Gaussian noise, and the second part describes an expe
rimental setup in which the deformation of foam material is studied. (
