Neutron activation analysis facilities at the JMTR reactor was used to
determine the levels of trace metals in the livers of nine Japanese s
ika deer. The samples were cut into pieces, pulverized in liquid nitro
gen, freeze-dried, and finally fractionated through a stainless steel
sieve of 200 mesh. Then the samples were irradiated for 6 or 24 hours
by a neutron flux of 1.0 x 10(14) n.cm(-3).sec(-1). In the present wor
k, we analysed the concentrations of six elemnts (Ag, Co, Fe, Rb, Se,
and Zn) in the livers of nine deer.
