Abstract
This paper discusses the phenomenon of avalanche amplification in stro ng electric fields for an amorphous photoconductor consisting of the a morphous analog of trigonal selenium. It shows that this photodetector can be used as a basis for creating avalanche-type superhigh-sensitiv ity optical information media (photothermoplastics, photoconductive ta rgets, and light modulators).
