Abstract
An original plasma source has been developed for exciting the spectra of small amounts of impurities in air, based on which a laboratory pro totype of a compact portable device for the quick spectral analysis of air in production settings, ecological monitoring, the monitoring of technological processes, and other purposes has been constructed. The analysis sensitivity for most of the studied impurity elements in air is tenths and hundredths of milligrams per cubic meter. (C) 1997 The O ptical Society of America.
