We consider the dynamics of a neutral atom of magnetic moment mu in a
spatially dependent magnetic field. Interaction with a resonant radio-
frequency field brings in non-linear dynamics for the slow motion of t
he center of mass. We derive asymptotically exact equations for the sl
ow dynamics and calculate the frequency of small oscillations for reso
