Abstract
Deposition velocities, V-d, reaction probabilities, gamma, and local a dsorption parameters, k(1), describing the isotherms of ethane, ethene , ethyne, propene and 1-butene onto three solid pigments (PbO, Fe2O3, CdS) have been determined in the absence and in the presence of NO2, t ogether with the surface reaction rare constant, k(2), and the desorpt ion rate constant, k(-1). The calculations are based on experimental a dsorption isotherms, since the linear adsorption model is not a very g ood approximation for inorganic solids like those mentioned above. The important result found is the effect of NO, on the values of the para meters V-d, gamma, k(1), k(-1) and k(2) in most cases. (C) 1997 Elsevi er Science B.V.
