The paper describes the research behind three elements of an interacti
ve product created from education radio resources. Firstly, a main men
u interface that takes into account physical classroom conditions. Sec
ondly, interactive learning interfaces that accommodate eye and vision
requirements of children. Thirdly, a story interface design informed
by the ''container'' metaphor and the 2D metaphors in radio script str
uctures mapped in 3D using a ''Radio Rooms'' model. The work was carri
ed out as a Senior Radio Producer with BBC Education, on a project usi
ng educational radio materials to create interactive multimedia resour
ces, part of a MPhil/PhD sponsored by the BBC.
