Abstract
In the present paper we discuss the main aspects of low temperature (L T) STM/STS investigations of high-temperature (HTc) superconductors (S C). STM/STS images of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+d were obtained by home-built tunn eling microscope with in situ sample cleavage specially developed for operating in the He temperature range. Our experimental results can be treated in the framework of new theoretical models of tunneling proce sses in nanometer scale junctions.
