The title complex was synthesized and its crystal structure Was determ
ined by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique with a four circle
diffractometer to give final R-1 value 0.050 9 and WR2 value 0.133 7.
The crystal is triclinic with space group <P(1)over bar>. The unit cel
l parameters are: a = 0.925 4(1) nm, b = 0.992 2(1) nm, c = 1.065 8(2)
nm, a = 71.481 (10)degrees, beta = 77.950(10)degrees, gamma = 65.350(
10)degrees, V = 0.840 1(2) nm(3), Z = 2, D-c = 2.034 g/cm(3). The comp
lex is a two-dimensional polymeric molecule. In addition, every yttriu
m atom is coordinated by four oxygen atoms from four iminodiacetic aci
d molecules and four oxygen atoms from water molecules. The coordinati
on number of yttrium ion is 8 and the coordination polyhedron is a dis
torted trigondodecahedron.
