Hq. Li et al., STUDIES ON A CONDUCTING LANGMUIR-BLODGETT -FILM BASED ON A NON-AMPHIPHILIC TETRATHIAFULVALENE, Gaodeng xuexiao huaxue xuebao, 18(8), 1997, pp. 1358-1360
A novel mixed Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) film based on a 1:1 (molar ratio)
mixture of a new non-amphiphilic tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) derivative d
ibenzylthio-dimethylthio-tetrathiafulvalene, and arachidic acid(AA) wa
s constructed and characterized by FTIR, UV spectra and X-ray diffract
ion. Measurement of conductivities of the LB films relating to the num
ber of layers at room temperature showed that the conductivity of the
films decreased with the increasing of layer number, After iodine dopi
ng the conductivities of the LB films increased by 10(2) similar to 10
(3) magnitude compared with those before iodine doping and reached the
maximum 2.5x10(-3) S/cm due to the formation of a new conducting phas
e, which was demonstrated by FTIR and UV spectral analyses, The result
from X-ray diffraction indicates that the LB film has an ordered lame
llar structure with a thickness per layer of 2.32 nm.
