RESULTS OF THE TECHNICAL SECTION, CPPA, MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE SURVEY

A survey on mechanical maintenance in mills was conducted by the Mecha nical Engineering and Maintenance Committee of the Technical Section o f the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association. The survey was sent to Cana dian mills in June 1995. It is a revised version of the survey carried out by CPPA in 1984 and in 1976. This paper presents the main finding s of the survey, in which 35 mills participated. It provides informati on on mill efficiency, size and productivity of maintenance and superv isory workforce, maintenance organization and safety.
