The single-crystal characterization of potassium disilver tetrathioars
enate(V), KAg2AsS4, was undertaken. The structure type for this phase
has been observed previously. This structure contains As-V and Ag-I at
oms tetrahedrally coordinated to S atoms while K+ cations are surround
ed by eight S atoms in a compressed cubic geometry. The KAg2AsS4 frame
work is related to a distorted chalcopyrite structure type.
