Abstract
Each La3+ ion in )lanthanum(III)]-mu-(2-furancarboxylato-O,O':O')], [L a(C5H3O3)(3)(H2O)(2)](n), is coordinated to seven O atoms from furanca rboxylato groups and to two O atoms of water molecules in a distorted monocapped square-antiprism configuration. The rare earth metal ions a re bridged by the carboxylate groups to form an infinite two-dimension al polymeric network.
