SPATIAL-DISTRIBUTION OF OLD NEUTRON-STARS - SEMIANALYTICAL CONSIDERATIONS

A semi-analytical method for calculating the stationary space distribu tion of old galactic neutron stars (ONS) is proposed. The method is va lid for the galactic potentials that admit the use of an ergodic hypot hesis for calculating equilibrium space distributions. Neutron stars a re supposed to acquire their initial velocities during the (asymmetric ) supernova explosion of a single massive (M0 > 10M.) star or of the m assive component of a binary system. The method permits one to investi gate the dependence of the ONS spatial distribution on the initial vel ocity and space distributions of young pulsars.
