Ff. Baryshnikov, FEASIBILITY OF CONSTRUCTING AN ELECTRON PHOTOINJECTOR BASED ON SYNCHROTRON OR UNDULATOR RADIATION, Quantum electronics, 27(4), 1997, pp. 370-373
An analysis is made of the feasibility of using synchrotron or undulat
or radiation to illuminate the cathode of an electron photoinjector. I
t follows from simple estimates that there are parameters of an accele
rator, undulators, and path-bending magnets which can ensure intense e
lectron emission as a result of irradiation of the photocathode surfac
e by intense short pulses of short-wavelength radiation.
