Abstract
A box-model for the prognosis of tropospheric ozone is used to assess the sensitivity of simulated peak ozone concentrations to local VOC an d NO, emissions. Distinction is made between biogenic and anthropogeni c emissions. The study is performed for a rural and an urban area in B avaria in July. Main outcome is that in the urban area much less relat ive increase in emissions is necessary to produce drastically high ozo ne concentrations than in the rural area, although the simulated conce ntrations of ozone were higher in the rural area than in the urban are a.
