Rks. Raghuwanshi et al., EFFECT OF SULFUR AND ZINC IN SOYBEAN (GLYCINE MAX)-WHEAT (TRITICUM-AESTIVUM) CROPPING SEQUENCE, Indian Journal of Agronomy, 42(1), 1997, pp. 29-32
A field experiment was conducted to asses the requirement of sulphur a
nd zinc in 'JS 72-44' soybean and 'WH 147' wheat sequence on Vertisols
. The treatment combinations of 0, 25 and 50 kg S/ha as gypsum and 5 a
nd 10 kg/ha of zinc as ZnCl2 and ZnSO4 were applied to soybean crop in
rainy season and their residual effect was evaluated on wheat crop. A
pplication of 25 and 50 kg S/ha increased the yield by 3.16 and 6.26 q
/ha respectively. Zinc sulphate @ 5 kg Zn/ha increased the wheat yield
by 2.44 q/ha and zinc sulphate @ 10 kg Zn/ha increased the wheat yiel
d by 2.19 q/ha. The residual response of zinc by either source was rec
orded in wheat.
