Field study was conducted at Ludhiana during 1992 and 1993 to identify
the effective control measures of Caesulia axillaris. Roxb. in transp
lanted rice. Application of 2,4-D (0.8 kg/ha) alone or its tank-mixed
or sequential combination with anilofos, i.e. 0.7 + 0.3 @ 0.6 +/- 0.4
kg/ha, respectively gave effective control of Caesulia axillaris. Comb
ination of anilofos (0.4 kg/ha) as pre-emergence followed by 2,4-D (0.
6 kg/ha) applied 20 days after transplanting was found best. Applicati
on of anilofos 0.4 kg/ha, butachlor and thiobencarb 1.5 kg/ha and oxad
iazon 0.75 kg/ha, gave poor control of Caesulia.
