Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during winter season of 1988-89 and 1 989-90 to study the effect of sowing time and irrigation schedules on nutrients content and their uptake by Indian mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czernj and Cosson]. The NPK content in seed was increased with de lay in sowing, but their uptake decreased significantly. The maximum u ptake of nutrients, protein content and seed yield were recorded in Oc tober sowings than in November sowings. Irrigations at different stage s of growth significantly influenced nutrient uptake and yield as comp ared with no irrigation.
