An examination is made of features of the kinetics and the composition
of the reaction products of liquid-phase oxidation of hydrocarbons. A
new concept is put forward concerning the formation of supermolecular
associates, including reversed micelles, the formation of which may b
e particularly great at high temperatures and with extensive conversio
ns. The influence of association on the mechanism of inhibition of oxi
dation of hydrocarbon systems is discussed. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science
