Dd. Edwards et al., EXPERIMENTAL LIMITATIONS IN IMPEDANCE SPECTROSCOPY .5. APPARATUS CONTRIBUTIONS AND CORRECTIONS, Solid state ionics, 99(1-2), 1997, pp. 85-93
Overlooked apparatus (cabling, leads, sample holder) contributions to
experimental impedance spectra can be significant, especially at high
frequencies, and can obscure the true sample response. Instrumental Li
mitations are discussed and high-frequency artifacts arising from appa
ratus contributions are investigated as they pertain to accurate imped
ance measurements of materials systems. Remediation strategies are pre
sented, including geometrical adjustments, lead shielding, and null-co
rrection procedures.
