Abstract
The adsorptive and voltammetric characteristics of Cu(II) complexes wi th guanine, guanosine and adenosine on a hanging mercury-drop electrod e in 0.195 mol/l Na2HPO4-0.0028 mol/l citric acid buffer (pH=8.0) were investigated. The reactants and products, as well as the number of el ectrons involved in the reaction, were determined. A new method based on separation of mixtures of guanine-guanosine, adenine-adenosine and adenine-guanine by capillary zone electrophoresis followed by adsorpti on voltammetric detection was proposed. The method was applied to the determination of adenine and guanine in the hydrolytic product of calf thumus-DNA with satisfactory result.
