Em. Uhlig et al., EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES ON THE VARIABILITY OF THE EXTINCTION COEFFICIENTBY DIFFERENT AIR MASSES, Atmospheric environment, 28(5), 1994, pp. 811-814
A horizontal Monochromatic Laser Transmission Path (MLTP) was used for
monitoring of the transmission change in the urban boundary layer of
the city of Leipzig. Measurements of the volume extinction coefficient
employing this MLTP were carried out from March 1990 to March 1992. T
he influence of relative humidity on the extinction coefficient was co
nsidered. According to several weather conditions the relevant influen
ce of the predominant air masses and the changing air pollution on the
extinction coefficient should be investigated.
