Lvc. Santacecilia et al., SELECTIVITY OF SOME INSECTICIDES ACARICID ES TO ADULTS OF CERAEOCHRYSA-CUBANA (HAGEN, 1861) (NEUROPTERA, CHRYSOPIDAE) IN THE LABORATORY/, Pesquisa agropecuaria brasileira, 32(8), 1997, pp. 803-806
Adults of the predator Ceraeochrysa cubana (Hagen, 1861) were sprayed
with the fenpropathrin, fenvalerate, fenitrothion and with the acarici
de fenbutatin-oxide, at the rates usually recommended for crop protect
ion in the field. Adults mortality were evaluated after 96 hours to de
termine the selectivity of these compounds to the predator. The effect
s on the fecundity of the adults and viability of the eggs were evalua
ted until 30 days after the treatments. The results showed that fenitr
othion, fenvalerate and fenpropathrin at the higher rate were highly t
oxic, with a very high mortality. Fenbutatin-oxide was not toxic to ad
ults of the predator.
