D. Sopauskiene et D. Budvytyte, CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ATMOSPHERIC AEROSOL IN RURAL SITE OF LITHUANIA, Atmospheric environment, 28(7), 1994, pp. 1291-1296
Since 1980, daily samples of atmospheric aerosol have been constantly
taken in Preila which represents the rural site of Lithuania. Concentr
ations of such chemical components as SO4(2-), NO3-, Cl-, H+, NH4+, Na
+, K+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ have been determined. A statistical analysis of t
he observed concentrations is presented in the paper. A seasonal varia
tion is typical of the major aerosol components. The alteration of dai
ly concentrations of chemical components is discussed in conjunction w
ith meteorological conditions. Air masses from western Europe have bee
n concluded to bring the greatest amount of anthropogenic pollutants t
o Lithuania.
