EFFECT OF GNRH-ANALOG TREATMENT WITH A DE POT-PREPARATION IN PATIENTSWITH ENDOMETRIOSIS

52 patients with proven endometriosis by pelviscopy and histology were treated for 6 month with a depotpreparation containing 3,6 mg Goserel in monthly. The subjective symptoms improved fast and significantly an d three quarters of the patients stayed free of symptoms during the fo llow-up period of six months. A control pelviscopy after treatment sho wed a reduction of size and amount of implants and cysts independent o f the primary stage of endometriosis. The objective effectivity of thi s substance compares favorable with the most potent treatment schedule s of the past. Treatment induced hypoestrogenic side effects were clai med in 35 to 85 percent of women - such as hot flushes, dryness of the vagina, sweating, decreased libido. Pathologic changes of metabolic p arameters could not be observed.
