Abstract
The anionic homodimeric theta glutathione S-transferase (EC 2.5.1.18), with specific activities of 4.6 units/mg with 1-chloro-2,4-dinitroben zene as substrate, from the eyes of the shrimp Penaeus japonicus, bind s to corticosterone, which was confirmed by the analysis of the conjug ate by SDS-PAGE and fluorography of proteins with bound H-3-corticoste rone. The reaction of the theta glutathione S-transferase with cortico sterone was prevented by the presence of glutathione at 10 mM.
