Abstract
In the formation of a photon-number state in a micromaser, the evoluti on of field entropy versus the injected atom number is studied with an d without the rotating-wave approximation. and the results in these tw o different cases are compared. An entropy-decreasing system and the q uantum oscillation induced by virtual photons are discussed.
