OBSERVATION OF 3 BANDS IN FLUORESCENCE-SPECTRA OF ASYMMETRIC DIAMINESHAVING PRIMARY AND TERTIARY AMINO-GROUPS

Broad and asymmetric emission spectra were observed with some saturate d diamines which have a primary and a tertiary amino group in cyclohex ane. These spectra were resolved into three component bands. The short est and longest wavelength bands were assigned to an excited tertiary amino group moiety and an exciplex formed between the excited tertiary and the ground-state primary amino groups. The middle band was observ ed for the first time, and its assignment has been discussed.
