Vs. Yarochkin et al., HYPOXIA OF TISSUE PERIPHERAL SHUNTING UND ER HEMODILUTION AND OXYGEN BREATHING, Gematologia i transfuziologia, 41(4), 1996, pp. 17-20
A comprehensive analysis of the main parameters of circulation, gas ex
change and blood gases has been made basing on dog and cat experiments
with models of complete and partial replacement of blood for gas-carr
ying substances (perfluoroorganic compounds) and plasma substitutes. H
emodilution of different degree in oxygen breathing enabled detection
and description of hypoxia of tissue peripheral shunting. It is charac
terized by elevated patial oxygen pressure in mixed venous blood under
arterial hyperoxia. This hypoxia aggravates posttransfusion oxygen in
sufficiency in the recipient's tissues. Mixed posttransfusion hypoxia
is more severe than anemic hypoxia arising in moderate blood loss repl
acement with blood substitutes in breathing atmospheric air.
