The neutral-current scattering cross section for neutrinos on electron
s is calculated under the assumption that neutrinos have mass, and the
right-handed currents are present in the framework of a left-right-sy
mmetric model (LRSM). Limits on the LRSM parameters and the neutrino m
ass are obtained using the experimental data and the SN 1987A measurem
ents. We discuss the relationship between the electron neutral couplin
gs g(A)e and g(V)e and the LRSM parameters. We found that the LRSM par
ameters are restricted to be in the region 0.012 less-than-or-equal-to
phi less-than-or-equal-to 0.044 and M(z2) greater-than-or-equal-to 76
9 GeV. We also found a restriction to the neutrino mass m(nu) less-tha
n-or-equal-to 8.6 keV, which applies to the mu or tau neutrino.
