F. Volino, NON-EXTENSIVE VISCOELASTIC THEORY .4. FIR ST EXPERIMENTAL TESTS OF THE SIMPLE THEORY WITH TRANSLATIONAL MODES, Annales de physique, 22(1-2), 1997, pp. 121-158
This paper describes the first tests of the non-extensive visco-elasti
c theory with translational modes developed in (III), using viscosity,
self-diffusion, shear elasticity, thermal conductivity and surface te
nsion literature data of several liquids, namely water, organic solven
ts and a nematics, for which numerous data exist in the literature. As
in the rotational case (I, II), a remarkable qualitative and quantita
tive agreement is obtained. The influence of translational-rotational
coupling on the how is examined for the nematics and for water. The ob
tained results, of equivalent importance as those obtained previouly i
n (II), are more spectacular in the sense that they concern more commo
n substances. If the proposed description is accepted, important chang
es in the meaning of some physical concepts are necessarily implied.
