Abstract
Infectious aortitis is uncommon and typically affects elderly immunoco mpromised men, with a Salmonella or Staphylococcal infection of an ath eromatous or aneurysmal aorta. We present a fit young man who develope d infectious aortitis with peripheral embolization due to a penicillin -resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteremia.
