Sd. Woo et al., EFFECT OF SILKWORM HEMOLYMPH ON THE EXPRESSION OF ESCHERICHIA-COLI BETA-GALACTOSIDASE IN INSECT-CELL LINES INFECTED WITH RECOMBINANT BACULOVIRUSES, Molecules and cells, 7(4), 1997, pp. 572-574
The effects of silkworm hemolymph on the expression of foreign genes b
y recombinant baculoviruses in cell lines were studied, The expression
efficiency of beta-galactosidase by recombinant virus containing the
E. coli lacZ gene at various concentrations of hemolymph and FBS was d
etermined in BmN and Sf cell lines, The addition of hemolymph to the m
edium containing FBS accelerated the expression of beta-galactosidase
by recombinant viruses in both cells. It was more effective in BmN cel
ls than in Sf cells. Hemolymph was most effective in enhancing virus m
ultiplicity under conditions of 5% FBS.
