Spatial differences in levels; of major and trace elements and isotope
s (O, D, Sr-87-/Sr-86 ratio) in selected mineral springs near the Rive
r Allier are presented in this Note. The investigation area is the eme
rgence zone of mineral waters of the Limagne d'Allier, between Clermon
t-Ferrand and and Issoire. These mineral waters contain bicarbonate, c
hloride and sodium. A delta(2)H versus delta(18)O diagram situates the
m between the local and global meteoric lines. In the emergence field
of the Limagne d'Allier springs the Sr-87/Sr-86 ratios are remarkably
uniform; only ata spring at Coudes is this ratio high. Fluctuations wi
th time were studied at one of the unexploited boreholes at Sainte-Mar
guerite. Some of the elements determined varied greatly between the ob
served maximum and minimum. At first, the Sr-87/Sr-86 ratios, taken mo
nthly, varied little, brit then increased significantly for 6 months b
efore returning to initial values.
