Abstract
A model for hydrograph separation of four components (deep groundwater , superficial groundwater, hypodermic runoff and surface runoff) is pr oposed, using a dense sampling of river waters from the upper Niger ba sin at the Bamako station (Mali). The composition of each component is supposed to remain constant, while the four different contributions t o the total flow are variable during the hydrological cycle. The flow percentage attributed to each component is calculated point by point, which requires some hypotheses on the concentrations of the selected t racers.
