Abstract
The author refers about the neuropsychologic diagnostics by the help o f the tests of verbal fluency(VF). He stresses its interdisciplinary u se in psychology, neurology and logopedy. He critisizes the verbal flu ency tests as the tests aimed first of all at the diagnostics of the f rontal lobes injury. He describes some studies from abroad dealing wit h the frontal lobes injury diagnostics and he chooses the data from ab road concerning the verbal fluency that can be used in the clinical pr actice. He documents the using of the verbal fluency test in psychiatr y and neurology by his own experience. He recommends to apply the verb al fluency test as a routine screening test in the Czech Republic to m eet the needs of clinical and research practice.
