ONLINE ESTIMATION OF VARIABLE PARAMETERS OF SYNCHRONOUS MACHINES USING A NOVEL ADAPTIVE ALGORITHM - ESTIMATION AND EXPERIMENTAL-VERIFICATION

On-line estimation of variable parameters of synchronous machines base d on a novel adaptive algorithm is presented. The estimation process i nvolves instantaneous parameter tracking and subsequent data processin g. The variable parameters are ultimately expressed as nonlinear funct ions of operating conditions. On-line estimation process is applied to a 100MVA turbogenerator. While this paper deals with application of t he on-line estimation method and experimental verification, principle discussion and development of the novel adaptive algorithm are detaile d in a companion paper.
