Abstract
Magnetic resonance imaging has revolutionised the ability to investiga te intrinsic disease of the anterior optic pathways. We review the dat a accumulated from this technique not only in the conditions, such as neoplasia, which have traditionally been the domain of neuroimaging, b ut also in inflammatory, metabolic and degenerative diseases.
