D. Todorovsky et al., CHANGES OF THE DISPERSIVE AND PHASE-COMPOSITION OF CEROX TYPE POLISHING MATERIAL AS A RESULT OF EXPLOITATION AND MECHANOACTIVATION, Crystal research and technology, 32(5), 1997, pp. 689-694
The changes of the dispersive and phase composition of a Cerox type po
lishing material as a result of its exploitation and mechanochemical t
reatment are studied. A slightly expressed destruction of the solid so
lution CeO2-Ln(2)O(3) during the exploitation and mechanoactivation in
water suspension (in centrifugal ball mill) is found out. The mechano
activation models very well the changes of the dispersive composition
of the polishing powder as a result of its use. A similarity in the be
haviour of the wasted and the mechanoactivated materials is observed i
n the case of a treatment with HNO3 + H2O2 mixture as well.
