Mp. Taranto et al., BILE-SALTS HYDROLASE PLAYS A KEY ROLE ON CHOLESTEROL REMOVAL BY LACTOBACILLUS-REUTERI, Biotechnology letters, 19(9), 1997, pp. 845-847
The [H-3]cholesterol removal by Lactobacillus reuteri was due to a co-
precipitation together with unconjugated bile acids, which was linked
to the bile salt hydrolase activity of the cell. No [H-3]cholesterol w
as found inside the cells indicating that no assimilation occurred.
