Abstract
This paper describes a procedure for the acoustic design of a concert hall that applies the theory of subjective preference, which is associ ated with the human cerebral hemispheres. Four orthogonal physical fac tors can be calculated using architectural drawings. After constructio n of the hall, acoustic measurements were performed at each seat to se e whether the measured acoustic factors matched the design values. In addition, the seat selection procedure using individual subjective pre ference profiles is reported to enhance individual satisfaction.
