Mw. Kasture et al., THERMAL-BEHAVIOR AND ADSORPTION PROPERTIES OF NATURAL STILBITE, Journal of inclusion phenomena and molecular recognition in chemistry, 29(1), 1997, pp. 1-13
Crystals collected from the Ellora valley (Aurangabad, MS, India) of t
he Deccan traps of India have been characterized as a stilbite (St) by
X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy and chemical analyses. The thermal
behaviour was studied using TG and DTA techniques. The sample was exc
hanged at reflux temperature with NH4Cl and NH(4)St was prepared. This
was further transformed to the H-form of stilbite (HSt) by heating at
573 K for 12 h. The samples so prepared were used for adsorption stud
ies. The comparative study of sorption of these samples shows an incre
ase in the sorption capacity of HSt The isosteric heat was also comput
ed for these samples.
