Abstract
The relationship between the field and atomic squeezing has been studi ed in the Jaynes-Cummings model without the rotating-wave approximatio n (RWA). For weaker coupling (< 10(-2)), the symmetry between the fiel d and atomic squeezing (SFAS) has been exposed. When the coupling stre ngth is up to the magnitude of order 10(-2), the SFAS begins to be des troyed. For sufficiently stronger coupling (approximate to 1), the squ eezing disappears almost entirely and the SFAS is destroyed thoroughly .
