Abstract
The pi(+)-C-13 elastic scattering at 162 MeV and C-13(pi(+), pi(0))N-1 3 at 165 MeV are analyzed in a model in which the nuclear state is ass umed to consist of a valence nucleon and a C-12 core described by a th ree alpha-cluster wavefunction and the cross section is calculated in the Glauber theory. A good agreement between theory and experiment is obtained and the results also indicate the important influence of the core on the processes.
